It’s a crawling variety of philodendron, which makes it unique among other upright or vining types. This plant requires moderate care but is perfect for those who appreciate tropical foliage.

Water Philodendron Gloriosum when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry, typically once a week. It likes its soil to remain consistently moist but not soggy, as it is sensitive to overwatering. Make sure the pot has proper drainage to avoid waterlogging and root rot.

During the winter months, reduce watering as the plant’s growth naturally slows.

This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its delicate leaves, causing browning or fading of the beautiful white veins. In lower light, the plant’s growth will slow down, and the leaves may not reach their full size.

Place it in a spot with plenty of filtered light for the best results.

This plant is relatively low-maintenance but benefits from occasional pruning. Remove any yellow or damaged leaves to keep it looking tidy and healthy. Clean the velvety leaves gently with a damp cloth to remove dust and help the plant absorb light.

As a crawler, it prefers wide, shallow pots to allow room for its rhizome to spread horizontally. Repotting every 1-2 years will help encourage healthy growth.
