Monstera Dubia is a unique and eye-catching climbing plant known for its shingling habit, where the leaves grow flat against a surface like a plank or trellis. It requires a bit more attention than some other Monstera species but is still manageable for plant enthusiasts with some experience.

It’s best grown indoors where its climbing tendencies can be supported.

Monstera Dubia prefers to be kept evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically once a week during warmer months. Be cautious not to overwater, as it is sensitive to root rot.

During the cooler months, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows.

• ☀️ Light: Bright Indirect

Monstera Dubia thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels. In higher light, its leaves will develop more vibrant variegation and faster growth, but direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves.

If it’s kept in low light, the plant may lose some of its variegation and grow more slowly.

Monstera Dubia is a climbing plant that will attach its leaves to a surface like a moss pole or wooden plank as it grows. Its small, heart-shaped leaves lay flat against the climbing surface and feature stunning variegation when properly cared for.

Maintenance for Monstera Dubia is relatively low but requires some attention to its climbing habit. Provide it with a surface to climb, such as a moss pole or plank, to encourage healthy growth.

Regularly prune any leggy growth, and remove dead or damaged leaves to keep the plant looking tidy. Dust the leaves occasionally to ensure they remain healthy and vibrant.
